This workshop will discuss: How fresh produce is handled after harvest has a critical impact on its shelf life, quality, and safety. Come learn the tools, techniques, and philosophies for proper handling at each step of the Cold Chain: harvest, cooling, cleaning, drying, storing, and transporting. We’ll also discuss sorting and packing, taking a look at quality and grades for different markets, and packing shed design with a photo/video tour of small and mid-sized packing operations. Participants will receive a free copy of FamilyFarmed.org’s newly revised Wholesale Success Manual, a 312-page manual that normally sells for $70.
