Nebraska Farmers Union, a progressive farm organization, is looking to immediately fill a full-time position as office manager/administrator. Typical daily duties include answering phone calls, taking messages, managing social media, website, bookkeeping, payroll, quarterly reports, financial reports, bill paying, bank deposits, membership database, grants fiscal agent, and paying taxes on time.

Other responsibilities include administrative support for organizational events, programs, activities and the State President. Farm or rural background, good social skills, and proficiency and experience in QuickBooks, Access, and Microsoft Office are highly preferred. Starting salary begins at $35k with negotiable benefits. Higher salaries are possible for highly qualified individuals with more experience.

• Help the President stay informed with relevant articles, print, file & post online.
• Social Media Administrator – post to FB page, group, and Twitter page, cross post from website.
• Daily mail distribution & filing.
• Accounting
Nebraska Farmers Union – Payroll, QUATERLY payroll reports, financial reports, bill paying; help with grant reporting, make deposits, know Quickbooks Accounting software, dues billing, board meeting preparation.
Nebraska Farmers Union Foundation – financial upkeep of Foundation funds in QB and spreadsheets, fiscal agent for two entities, prepare reports and materials for board meetings.
• Nebraska Farmers Union PAC – keep track of all PAC money in QB, & file reports.
• Accountability and Disclosure Reports – NADC for PAC and President’s lobbying. reports.
• Lobbying Reporting – Principal and Lobbyist reports quarterly and as scheduled.
• Database maintenance – data entry/dues processing, address and status changes,
Payment and reporting to NFU for monthly dues & spreadsheet of membership renewals.
• Mailings – monthly invoices, membership cards, meeting postcards and special mailings
• Events preparation and attendance
District Meetings – Fall and Spring (7 Districts)
Quarterly Board of Directors Meetings – NeFU, NEBFARMPAC, and NeFU Foundation
National Farmers Union Convention – March
NFU Board meeting – June
National Farmers Union Fall Fly-In – September
NeFU Annual State Convention – December (4 days) Prepare Convention book.
Other Events as scheduled
• Software – Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Quickbooks, and Outlook.
• Office Supplies –manage needed supplies to operate office, plan ahead.
• Filing – Maintaining and updating filing system on-going for membership records,
periodicals, articles, events, legislative bills, testimony and press releases.
• Web Page updates and maintenance – post events & press releases to website.
• Legislative Activities Tracking – keeping a spreadsheet & paper filing system of bills of interest.
• Other activities as assigned
