Nebraska Public Power District

At this time NPPD is considering what route should be taken for future energy generation in Nebraska.  On the table includes $1.5 Billion retrofit of our existing coal plants.  Nebraska can do better than this as we have the 4th highest wind resource in the nation, but rank 25th in production!

As owners of our prized public power system, NeFU encourages everyone to weigh in in support of renewables.   Not only do renewables burn cleaner, they also can help us keep energy rates low into the future, and provide an enormous rural economic development opportunity.  The two meetings left on the schedule are at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City, 3-6 p.m., May 14, and at the VFW Club in Columbus, 3-6 p.m., May 15.
