NeFU is a grassroots organization that consists of over 4,000 family farm and ranch members statewide. Every year these members send delegates from their county organizations to the Annual NeFU Convention to represent their home communities and to take up issues of concern. Delegates have the ability to vote for the NeFU President, Directors, State Delegates to the National Farmers Union Convention, and also help shape and adopt the NeFU Policy, which guides the state organization on family farm and ranch policy issues. This grassroots organizational setup of the Farmers Union ensures that NeFU continues to work for the family farmer and rancher, instead of high dollar special interest groups.
